Ela Soccer Club Brings Home 13 Championships This Fall!

Ela Soccer finishes off an impressive fall tournament season with multiple championships. The season of tournaments began back in August with the FC Milwaukee Invitational. Coach Nour Bensaoud led the U13 Boys Elite team to his first championship as coach for the club. “I feel proud to be part of the great group of coaches and staff that the club has right now. I am really happy to make an impact in the new community that has adopted me. The boys did a fantastic job defending and playing at a high level as a group throughout the whole tournament.” The U14 Girls Elite and U15 Girls Elite teams were both semi-finalists in Milwaukee.

The Elgin Back to School Tournament resulted in four championship teams for Ela Soccer. U12 Boys Red, U11 Boys Red, U11 Girls Red and U12 Girls Red all took home the win for Ela. The U12 Girls Red team played an impressive championship game shutting out Kickers United FC 4-0.

The last weekend of August brought Ela Soccer to Schaumburg Soccerfest. Here the young players shined. U9 Boys Red and U9 Girls Red brought home championships. U8 Boys Red, U10 Girls Red and U12 Boys Blue all were runners up in the tournament. The U10 Girls played impressively well topping Mundelein 5-4, Schaumberg 5-0 and Cary Defenders 5-0 in bracket games. They were edged out by the Arlington Aces 4-3 in the finals.

The Ela Soccer U15 Girls Elite shined, taking home the win in the Palatine Celtic Cup. They defeated FCX in an exciting overtime game in the semi-finals and went on to defeat GLSA in the championship game 2-0. Four out of the five games resulted in a shutout. The team only allowed one goal during the entire tournament. Ela Soccer had three semi-finalist wins in Palatine, the U12 Girls Red, U13 Girls Elite and U18 Girls Elite. The U12 Boys Red and U10 Girls Red brought home runners up trophies. Notably, the U10 Girls Red were undefeated in bracket and semi-final games and scored an impressive 30 goals during the tournament.

This past weekend culminated the fall season with Ela Soccer participating in the Libertyville and Madison MYSC Octoberfest tournaments. Ela Soccer U10 Girls Red, U10 Boys Red, U14 Girls Blue and U18 Girls Elite brought home championships from Libertyville. U14 Girls Elite were runners up in Madison finishing tied for first on points. They beat the current Iowa state cup champs 1-0 and the MYSC Rush, Wisconsin runners up, 2-1; losing in head to head to FC United. The Ela Soccer U13 Girls Elite brought home the Championship at MYSC only allowing one goal the entire tournament. “The girls did a great job generating opportunities to score the entire weekend. They were very attentive during training sessions leading up to the tournament. Their ability to execute the tactical plans set forth led directly to their success.” shares Coach Richard Drake, assistant director of coaching for Ela Soccer Club.

All together the club has had an impressive fall tournament season. Gin Sharma, Director of Coaching had this to say, “The hard work put forward by the players and coaches during the training sessions have resulted in many outstanding team performances during the fall season. I look forward to seeing everyone keep up the hard work and continue to progress.”
