First Ela College Scholarship awarded to Olivia Whalen
Ela Soccer Club is pleased to announce and congratulate the first recipient of the $1,000 Ela Soccer Club College Scholarship, Olivia Whalen. Having been a part of the Ela family for 11 years, Olivia has displayed perseverance, hard work and an enormous appetite to be the best player she can be - a great role model for all. We wish Olivia success as she continues her life and soccer journey at the University of Iowa and look forward to seeing her back on the field at Ela Soccer Club when she returns home.

Playing for the Ela program has not only made me a great soccer player but has taught me about sportsmanship and integrity. I have had many great coaches throughout my years at Ela and all of them have contributed to the player I am today. Ela creates a sense of family within the teams and that good chemistry transfers to play on the field. And like family, all players treat each other with respect, dignity and good sportsmanship.
Through the dedication and great work ethic all my coaches have instilled in me, I am prepared to play at the next level.”
