We are overwhelmed with the support we have received over the last couple days on the announcement of the land purchase by Ela Soccer for the Ela Soccer Park. As we are working through the approval process, we need all of our members to express their excitement and appreciation to the area's elected officials that are assisting us.

We are asking that you please send an email to the following elected officials expressing that you, as members of Ela Soccer, are excited about the prospect of a soccer field park and thank them for a helping us as we go thru this approval process. We need them to know that all of us at Ela Soccer are anxious to make this project a reality.

While the property is not within the limits of the Village of Hawthorn Woods, we still need to obtain road access permission since the property will utilize a road within Hawthorn Woods jurisdiction.

Ela Soccer Under Contract to Purchase Land
Ela Soccer Club is excited to announce that it has reached an agreement to purchase 10 acres for the development of a soccer field complex just north of Lake Zurich in unincorporated Lake County. This will allow Ela Soccer to develop three soccer field areas on the property. The next step will now be working with the necessary governmental bodies on getting the required permits and approvals.

"With over 1,200 participants and continuing to grow, we are always looking for opportunities for additional field spaces," said Doug Anderson, Ela Soccer President. "Being a non profit organization, finding land that is both affordable and fits our needs has been the first challenge. The second challenge is now going thru the approval processes with Lake County and the Village of Hawthorn Woods and we are hopeful for a quick and inexpensive approval process."

The approvals from the governmental bodies are not guaranteed, however, this property is prime for outdoor recreational use. If anyone would like to help with the development or working towards getting the approvals with the governmental bodies, please contact Jackie Marais at jackie.marais@elasoccer.com to be added to the committee
