Goal Scored in Long Grove
(August 28, 2014) - The Ela Soccer Club and the Village of Long Grove have come to a 12-year agreement for the development of the Long Grove Soccer Park. The 11 acre facility will feature two full-size soccer field areas and one half field area.
“As our annual registrations have now surpassed 2,500, these are much needed new fields,” said Doug Anderson, Ela Soccer President. “We are excited to partner with the Village of Long Grove for the development of this new premier soccer park and would like to thank Long Grove Village President Angie Underwood, the Long Grove Trustees and Long Grove Village Manager Dave Lothspeich. They have all made this process easy and we look forward to working with them in the future; similar to our great relationships we have with Ela Township, Village of Lake Zurich and the Village of Deer Park.”
The development of the facility is scheduled to begin this fall with the first games kicking off in the fall of 2015. The Soccer Park is located behind Menards at the corner of Lake Cook Road and Old Hicks Road.
Ela Soccer Club is a nonprofit youth soccer organization that has over 2,500 annual registrations of players from Lake Zurich, Hawthorn Woods, Long Grove, Deer Park, Kildeer, North Barrington, Wauconda, Mundelein and surrounding areas. Ela Soccer was recently rewarded with the Five Star award from US Youth Soccer and Illinois Youth Soccer.
