Congratulations to the U12 Ela blue team as they won the Naperville Great Lakes Soccer Challenge for their second first place finish this fall season! 

 Ela beat the Plainfield SA Legends Premier 3-1 in the championship game to take home first place after losing to them 3-0 in the opening qualifier to secure the championship. 

A goal in the first half by Trevor Niedzwiecki gave Ela a 1-0 lead going into half time.  After a ten minute scoreless second half Stephen Battin scored on a penalty kick to make the score 2-0.

A third goal by Conner Jackson helped secure the win as the final score was 3-1. 

 Good defense played by Brandon Wohler, Andrew Kelly , Matt Svanson and Kyle Obsuszt helped thwart off an offense Plainfield put forth during the game to only give up one goal. 

Colin Furlong in goal along with the rest of team provided the necessary balance to help seal Ela’s victory! 

Also a congratulations to coach Jason Braznell and assistant coach Tim Svanson for the game victory during a highly contested match.

With their cool heads in a highly contested match by the other coach they no doubt played a huge part in keeping our boys grounded and focused to the tasks at hand and bringing home another 1^st place trophy.
