Ela Soccer Club is happy to announce the 2016 winner of the $1000 College Scholarship.
Lisa’s desire and contributions to her Ela teams over the past 10 years has not gone unnoticed. Lisa has shown great leadership qualities and a strong desire to be part of a team. Starting her competitive play at u9 on the blue team she now finds herself continuing her soccer experience at college. She is a wonderful example to all players on what it takes to remain committed and motivated towards training and being competitive on the field.
Well done Lisa!
“Soccer has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. From watching my older brother’s games when I was too young to play, to starting in the recreational league with my dad as a coach …….. Playing competitively comes with dedication and time…soccer has taught me that being a part of a team means my actions and choices affect others too. Sometimes, something that is best for the team is not necessarily what is best for me personally, however, the team comes first…… Through both rough and successful times, I have grown into the person I am right now. I have drive and determination ………Soccer has taught me more about myself than anything else I have experienced.
