Ela Soccer Families,
Happy New Year.
As we start 2011, it brings us with the hope and promise of new opportunities and challenges. Just as many of you made New Years resolutions, this can be a great time to talk with your children about setting personal goals in soccer. These goals shouldn't be about scoring goals but instead about learning new skills such as improving their juggling count or working on their first touch. Goals should be reasonable yet challenge your child to succeed and to become the best that they can become.
In the next couple months, the Board and Staff will be finalizing the goals and objectives for the long range strategic plan of Ela Soccer. We have been diligently reading your survey responses and will continue improving the areas needed along with enhancing the overall program. We appreciate your feedback. Our long range strategic plan is called Goal 2015 and it will coincide with the 25th Anniversary of Ela Soccer.
I would like to thank, Steve Morrell, Bill Kapraun and Peter Udelhoven for their many years of service on the Ela Soccer Board of Directors and welcome Joe Salvi, Marjie Malia and Kristin Monkman.
Since taking over as President, I have truly been impressed with the dedication of the parents, coaches and players that make up Ela Soccer. Some things we tend to forget about Ela Soccer, as the largest youth soccer organization in the greater Lake Zurich area, we have been providing over 1,200 participants with the opportunity to play youth soccer for over 20 years. Our competitive teams continue to be some of the best teams in Illinois and across the Midwest . Our recreational program is one of the best organized and largest in the state. All of this is not possible without you.
I look forward to meeting all of you at our St Patrick's Day Social Event.
