Your donations are already been put to great use! 50 jerseys, 40 pairs of shorts and socks were donated to an orphanage in Sierra Leone, a small country on the eastern coast of Africa. The children love to play soccer and recently, the Missionaries decided to begin a more formal program and compete against other communities in the area. The idea of forming this team was communicated to their U.S. sponsors the Monday after we completed our first Give and Go drive! Since we've been in communication with the group before the G&G drive, we were able to quickly collect and ship our gear. Unfortunately, we can't use UPS or FedEx to deliver the uniforms, so volunteers pack suitcases and fly there so everything gets to where it's intended.

We'd like to thank everyone who made the inaugral "Give and Go" donation drive a success. We collected over 450 items including 130 pairs of cleats and 150 jerseys. Shoes and other items will be made available to local families through our "free kick" and "cleat exchange" programs. Uniforms and equipment are being shared with communities in Sierra Leone, Costa Rica, Mexico and Brazil. Our international program has generated so much interest, that we decided to place a donation bin outside the Ela office at Main Street Sports. Feel free to drop off your expired uniforms the next time your son or daughter practices indoors.
Last, we'd like to recognize our volunteers who helped collect and inventory your donations. Thanks to everyone for making our inaugural drive a success!
